Alex St James2024-12-18 Great experience, very knowledgeable instructors who kept it interesting and enjoyable. Many thanks and I will be back for more. Gavin Millar2024-12-02 Marine Power Training deliver an extremely high standard of training. I've recently completed a PB2 and then a 2 day advanced powerboat theory refresher with MPT. Philip Tayson has a exceptional gift for understanding his pupils' perspectives and abilities. Philip builds individual, effective and enjoyable learning pathways for each pupil. Marine Power Training will be my first and only choice for my next course and for all future RYA powerboat training. Six weeks later I've just completed an RYA Advanced Powerboat course with Marine Powerboat Training. All three instructors, Philip, Ian (aka Fidds), and Richard contributed to a very useful, enjoyable and confidence building course to a continued 5 star standard. Andy Pedrick2024-11-04 This month i tried to improve my knowledge and skill with a Powerboat Advanced Course. I was pleased with the detail and enhanced knowledge within the course. The new XS rib with twin engines was a delight to helm and work on as crew. The course was delivered in an enjoyable format with plenty of time for questions. Once again MPT delivered big time, thank you to the training team especially Philip. Ercem2024-10-13 Took a 2 day RYA Level 2 Powerboat course. Had a great time while learning loads. Would happily use again Charon Baggaley2024-09-05 Thank you - excellent first aid course. Felt comfortable asking our instructor (Ian) questions appropriate to my own work situation so I feel comfortable using the information and updated skills provided. Gus Holloway2024-08-19 Excellent facilities, equipment, and coaching. Great emphasis on safe and professional craft handling. Highly recommended for power boat training. Neil Chester2024-08-14 I’ve just returned from Warsash after completing my 2-day RYA Level 2 Power Boat Training at Marine Power Training. From the outset, Philip was friendly and professional and made me feel very welcome. The training was incredibly comprehensive, with apx 1.5hrs of classroom work each day - with the remainder being on the water. We were training on Logan (pictured), a 6m Rib Eye, which was immaculate. After two (long!) days, I really feel I have learnt so much and am confident to go out alone and put these new skills into practice. I’m sure there maybe cheaper and shorter courses to gain a PB2 qualification, but if you want first class training, by a super experienced guy on a lovely RIB, then I can’t recommend Philip highly enough. Paul Nathan2024-08-05 So far I've done my Powerboat 2 and VHF courses here. Great instruction, very helpful, experienced and friendly staff who went out of their way to demonstrate and make sure all was understood. Practical was on a nice 6m RIB on the Hamble and out in the Solent. All necessary gear was provided and in good order. I immediately put to use what I learnt the next day, e.g. buying the correct anchor type and then successfully anchoring my small boat for the first time alone. They are also at a very convenient location in terms of parking and access, plus the area is good to train in as there is plenty of activity going on to learn awareness. Highly recommended. James Cotterell2024-07-04 Very nice instructors. Helped to refine skills I wasn’t sure on during my past boating experience. Would highly recommend. Alvin Wilby2024-06-07 Power Boat Level 2 for my wife and I. She was quite nervous (particularly after getting bucketfuls of cold sea water in her face with F5 wind against tide) but Philip was brilliant at encouraging her and helping her to succeed. Despite having more experience (Day Skipper), I also learnt a great deal about handling an outboard boat rather than the shaft driven boat I had been used to. Philip was able to respect the PB2 syllabus whilst making every effort to ensure that the training met our specific needs. Highly recommended.
