RYA Tender Operator

Designed by the RYA in conjunction with the Professional Yachting Association the Tender Operator’s course is intended to build on a candidate’s basic powerboating knowledge and skills. A RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification is a pre-requsite for this course and it is strongly recommended that VHF SRC and First Aid qualifications are also held. If you need to achieve these qualifications before hand, contact us at training@marinepower.training

RYA Tender Operator course students will gain confidence in their ability to manoeuvre a powerboat more smoothly through the syllabus. The emphasis is on learning important skills in day and night pilotage and passenger carriage and management.

This course is very useful for anyone operating a powerboat day or night with responsibility for carrying passengers. The course includes plenty of time to practice working with a crew member and operating short-handed. Candidates will practice and become familiar with pilotage for short passages from ship to shore, both day and night.
